Configure creation rules
Use route creation rules to specify when a new item is created in the other system. Creation rules are configured within a route and apply only when a link is first created.
Each route can have separate rule groups for items created from Jama Connect and items created from Jira. If a directional rule group has no rules, the rule gate passes for items that meet the route scope.
Creation rules support Text, HTML, Single Select, Multi Select, and Boolean fields. The available operators depend on the field type.
Important
Creation rules apply only when a link is first created. After that, updates continue to flow even if the item no longer meets the rule criteria.
To configure route creation rules:
On the Integrations page, select the link for the integration you just created.
Edit a route, then select Next to open its Creation rules step.
Edit a route and configure the Jama Connect-to-Jira rule group when you want to filter items created in Jira.
When an item is created in Jama Connect, a linked Jira issue is created only if the route scope and applicable rules are satisfied.
If you add multiple rules, select a condition:
All — Every rule in the directional group must match.
Any — At least one rule in the directional group must match.
When using Jama Connect tags in creation rules:
Separate multiple tags with three pipe characters (|||), as in Tag 1|||Tag 2|||Tag 3.
Select Equals to indicate that the item must include only the tags listed.
Select Contains to indicate that the item might include other tags in addition to the ones listed.
When using Jira labels in creation rules:
Separate multiple labels with commas, as in Label1,Label2,Label3.
Select Equals to indicate that the item must include only the labels listed.
Select Contains to indicate that the item might include other labels in addition to the ones listed.
Edit a route and configure the Jira-to-Jama Connect rule group when you want to filter items created in Jama Connect.
When an item is created in Jira, a corresponding Jama Connect item is created only if the route scope and applicable rules are satisfied.
Save the route.
